The very charismatic American actor Samuel L. Jackson was born in Washington in 1948. In the 1970s and 80s he had roles in various tv films and films, but his real break through was in Martin Scorsese's "Goodfellas" from 1990. He was then discovered by Quentin Tarantino who hired him for the role as Jules in "Pulp Fiction" from 1994. This role earned Jackson an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting role. Samuel L. Jackson has acted in five Quentin Tarantino films: "Pulp Fiction", "Jackie Brown", "Kill Bill: 2", "Inglorious Basterds" and "Django Unchained". Other highlights of his career include "Unbreakable", "Star Wars: Episode 1-3", "Iron Man" and "xXx". He is also the only actor who has played roles that were eaten both by a shark and a dinosaur.
