Boeing 747, also known as Jumbo Jet, is a four-engine passenger plane built by the Boeing factories. It was first launched in 1966 and remains the second largest passenger plane in use today (only topped by Airbus A380). The plane is known for its characteristic 'hump' which houses the cockpit and further passengers. Most Jumbo Jets are used for normal passenger traffic, but some have military 'careers': most famous is no doubt U.S. Air Force VC-25, also known as Air Force One. All in all, some 1500 planes have been produced.
