FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) is the name of the international football federation. FIFA was founded in Paris in 1904 and has its headquarter in Zurich, Switzerland. The founding members were Belgium, Denmark, France, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Germany. The Germans did not physically participate in the founding meeting, but sent their registration via telegram. Since then FIFA has accepted over 200 countries. FIFA has been the organizer of the World Cup since 1930.
