He wrote the script for the film "Charlie Wilson's War" starring Tom Hanks in 2007, and in 2010 he finally received his first Academy Award nomination for the film "The Social Network". He ended up winning it. In 2012, he was nominated for the film "Moneyball". Sorkin is known for his strong and intelligent female roles.
