MOVIES QUESTION #8678
What is the title of Steven Soderbergh's debut long feature film?
Sex, Lies and Videotapes
Explanation
The American director Steven Soderbergh (born 1963) started making short films back in the 1980s. In 1989, he made it to the Sundance film festival with his debut long feature film "Sex, Lies and Videotapes" which became an international hit. Nothing quite like it had been seen before. Since then, Soderbergh has been a very productive man indeed. Highlights include "Erin Brockovich", "Oceans Eleven", "The Good German" and not least "Traffic", for which he won an Oscar as best director. The 2009 film "The Informant!" featuring Matt Damon in the lead role was also well received. At age 26, Soderbergh became the youngest director ever to win a Palme d'Or in Cannes.
