The English actress Helena Bonham Carter was born in 1966 in London. She has played a host of different characters throughout her career. Her breakthrough role was in "A Room With a View" (1985), based on the E.M. Forster novel of the same name. Quickly after that she came to Hollywood where in 1999 she had a major role as the unstable Marla Singer in "Fight Club". During the filming of the "Planet Of the Apes" in 2001 she met Tim Burton, and the two quickly became an item. Between then and 2011, Bonham Carter has acted in six Tim Burton films, including "Big Fish", "Alice in Wonderland" and "Sweeney Tood", in which she plays a deranged lady who uses human flesh in her pies. She is the first woman to have acted in two films that both grossed more than a billion dollars worldwide.
