Daniel Day-Lewis is one of the greatest and most respected actors in contemporary film history. His breakthrough came in 1985 with the film adaptation of the E. M. Forster novel "A Room with a View", with a very young Helena Bonham Carter as the female lead. In 1992, he was acclaimed for his part in "The Last of the Mohicans", directed by Michael Mann.
