He is best known for his 2006 victory in Tour de France for Caisse d'Epargne, awarded afte the original winner, Floyd Landis, had been crowned the winner on Champs-Élysées. Landis was disqualified for doping. Perreiro ended his career in 2010 whilst riding for the Kazakhstani team, Astana.
