The Italian dictator Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini (1883-1945) was the leader of the fascist party and also known as "Il Duce". At the beginning of his career he was a socialist but he was thrown out because he supported the Italian participation on the First World War. In 1921 he created the Fascist Party and created a fascist state by using terror and propaganda. Furthermore he dreamed of establishing an Italian imperium and in 1936 he became to work close with Adolf Hitler. After the Italian collapse he escaped to Switzerland but was caught on the road by Italian partisans who shot him and hung him with his head down from a lamppost.
