The Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgaard (born 1951) started his career back in his home country in the 1960s and 1970s. He first came to Hollywood in the 1980s, where one of his first roles was a minor part in "The Unbearable Lightness of Being". He had a major breakthrough with Lars Von Trier's "Breaking The Waves" from 1996. Altogether, he has appeared in four Lars Von Trier films. In 1997, he played the maths professor in "Good Will Huntin". Many people also recognise him for his roll as Bootstrap Bill in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" films. He is good friends with Paul Bettany, who named his son after him.
