The American comedian and actor Adam Sandler was born in New York in 1966. He started doing stand-up at a young age, and became a cast member in "Saturdany Night Live". He broke through on the the big screen in 1995 with "Billy Madison". The film was quickly followed up by succesful comedies like "The Waterboy", "The Wedding Singer" and "Happy Gilmore". In the 2003 film "Anger Management", he plays opposite Jack Nicholson. Sandler has also tried his talent in more serious roles in films such as "Punch Drunk Love" and "Reign Over Me". Th title of the latter is taken from the "The Who" song and is about a man's loss after his family dies in the 9/11 terror attacks. Off screen, Sandler is a huge fan of "Van Halen", "The Police" and "Styx" and he often uses their music in his films.
