Albert Finnney (born 1936) is an English actor of the old school. He broke through with "Saturday Night, Sunday Morning", one of the master pieces of the English New Wave in the beginning of the 1960s. He started off his career in England but quickly movd to Hollywood where his films include "Under the Volcano", "The Duellists" and not least "Murder on the Orient Express", directed by Sidney Lumet. Finney received several Academy Award nominations for his lead roles, but also one for a supporting role: for the film "Erin Brockovich". Amongst younger film fans, Finney is most known for his role in the film "Big Fish" where he plays Ewan McGregor as old. He is one of the few actors to never have had an agent or a manager.
