MOVIES QUESTION #6288
What was Darren Aronofsky's first feature film?
Pi
Explanation
The American film director Darren Aronofsky was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1959. After directing a couple of short films, he released his debut feature film, "Pi", in 2003. This was followed by the successful "Requiem for a Dream" from 2000, starring Jennifer Connelly and Jared Leo as drug addicts. After these minor productions, Aronofsky had his chance to direct a larger-scale production in 2008. He directed a high-rolling Mickey Rourke in "The Wrestler," but only truly joined the A-list in 2010 when he directed Natalie Portman in her Oscar-winning performance in "Black Swan", for which Aronofsky himself received an Oscar nomination.
