The Canadian film director David Cronenberg was born in Toronto in 1943, and is a major player in Hollywood. His most famous movie, "The Fly" from 1986, was a critical and commercial success. He has struck gold later in his career as well, e.g. with his fruitful cooperation with Viggo Mortensen. He directed "History of Violence" (2006) starring none other than Mortensen, and used Mortensen one year later for his mafia-themed "Eastern Promises". Once again he directed Viggo Mortensen in the role of Sigmund Freud in the movie "A Dangerous Method," that also featured Keira Knightly.
