Salto del Angel (Angel Falls) is the world's highest waterfall with a height of around 978 metres. It is located in the southeast part of Venezuela in a tributary of the Caroni River. The falls were discovered in 1935 by the American Jimmy Angel. They are Venezuela's biggest tourist attraction.
