Marcus Burghardt (born 1983) is a German, professional road cyclist. He has won one stage in Tour de France, but is most known for one of the most bizarre crashes in cycling history: in the 2007 edition of Tour de France, he became world famous after a close encounter with an angry dog. The collission was shown on tv all over the world and resulted in a bent front wheel. The dog survived, but probably had a couple of painful ribs.
