The Aratat Mountain (Turkish: Agri Dagi, Kurdish: Çîyayê Agirî) is the highest in Turkey. This snow-capped, dormant volcano is situated in the middle of the Igdir province in the north-eastern corner of the country, 16 kms west of the Iranian border and 32 kms south of the Armenian border. Different heights are given for the mountain, but it is somewhere between 5137 and 5165 metres high.
