Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901) was an Italian composer from Milan. He mainly wrote operas, and was one of the most influential composers of the 19th century. His first opera was "Oberto, conte di San Bonifacio" (1839), but became famous with "Nabucco" (1842). Giuseppe Verdi wrote a number of well-known operas, including "Ernani" (1844), "Macbeth" (1847), "Luisa Miller" (1849), "Rigoletto" (1851), "Aida" (1871) and "Othello" (1887).
