The Italian painter Giovanni Bellini lived from ca. 1430-1516 and was the son of Renaissance painter Jacopo Bellini. He is considered a prominent painter of early Renaissance Northern Italy, who painted portraits and religious motifs. His lush colors and flowing, atmospheric landscapes were highly influential in the Venetian school of painting, in particular with his students Giorgione and Tizian.
