Sudan is a country in Africa which borders on South Sudan, Egypt, Libya, Chad, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Eritrea, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Central African Republic. It was the biggest country in Africa and the world's 10th biggest country with an area of 2,505.810 km2 until 2011 when it was split into Sudan and South Sudan. Sudan is now the third biggest country with an area of 1,886,068 km2 beaten by both Democratic Republic of the Congo (2,267,048 km2) and Algeria (2,381,741 km2).
