What is the capital of Bhutan called?



The Kingdom of Bhutan is a small, land-locked country in the Himalayas between India and China. The capital is called Thimphu. The country has 700,000 inhabitants and covers an area of 47.000 kmĀ². The country was formed in the first half of the 16th century by the Tibetan llama and prince Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. With that, a theocratic tradition was established, in which Buddhism played an important role.
