What is the capital of France called?

Paris has around 12 million inhabitants and is thus one of the biggest metropolitan areas in Europe. The name Paris comes from the Gallic tribe Parisii which moved to the area around 250 B.C. Today, Paris is a world-leading business and cultural centre with influence on everything from politics through fashion to art.
