American actor Kevin Bacon was born in 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He broke through as the main actor in the 1984 classic "Footloose", and after that, his career really took off. He had several big roles in "Apollo 13", "Sleepers", and the 1994 film "The River Wild", also starring Meryl Streep. In 2001, he played the main character in "Hollow Man". Since then, Bacon has slowed down his film making somewhat, but he does have a minor role in "Crazy, Stupid, Love" from 2011, which also features Steve Carrel and Julianne Moore. Kevin Bacon was also the main inspiration for the game "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" where you have to find an actor and link him to Bacon in less than six steps.
