An egg consists of a hard shell and inside is the egg yolk surrounded by egg white. The average egg weighs approx. 60 grams, while eggs from bantams weighs approx. 40 grams. Eggs can be eaten both cooked, fried and poached and can in many ways be included in cooking and baking. An ordinary eggs should be boiled for approx. 5 minutes for it to be soft boiled, while an egg boiled for approx. 9 minutes will be hard boiled.
