Neil Alden Armstrong (1930-2012) was an American astronaut. On 21 July 1969, he became the first person to set foot upon the moon. This was on the Apollo 11 mission. His first words from the Moon were: "Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed". Then he set foot upon the surface of the Moon and said those famous words: "That´s one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind".
