Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) was a painter, sculptor, architect, engineer, inventer, botanist as well as anatomist, and prominent example of a Renaissance man. After his apprenticeship with Verrocchio in Florence, he painted the "The Adoration of the Kings" (1481-82) and "Virgin of the Rocks" (1483-86). The mural "The Last Supper" (1495-98) in Milan is one of the major works of the Renaissance. His most famous piece is the Mina Lisa (1503-07), which is displayed at the Louvre in Paris.
